This will depend on the product being printed and we will advise the safe margin and bleed required for each job. The safe margin provides a buffer area and ensures the core elements of your design are included.
The bleed is the area outside the trim marks and ensures no unprinted edges are seen in the final document.
We typically offer uncoated paper, silk paper and gloss paper. Uncoated as the name suggests has no coating and is unfinished. The paper is absorbent and is suitable for writing on. Silk paper gives a vibrant print and is often laminated to prevent marking. Gloss paper has a shiny coat and gives a vibrant print and is often used as covers.
DPI stands for dots per inch and relates to the number of ink droplets a printer produces per inch when printing. More dots mean more detail.
CMYK stands for cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black). It refers to the colour plates used in certain printing. CMYK values determine how much of each colour are used to create the desired colour.
Litho stands for Lithographic and is a print process where your artwork is placed on a plate which is covered in ink and then used for printing.

Yes, we offer in-house design from our studio which will also assess and pre-flight your artwork and flag any issues at proof stage to ensure everything is ok for print.
NCR stands for no carbon required and is carbonless copy paper. It is available in various shades of white, yellow, blue, pink and green.
PUR stands for polyurethane reactive relating to the glue used in binding pages together.
It’s mostly used for brochures/catalogues – where there is a high page count (lots of leaves).
UV stands for ultraviolet and provides a sheen and extra protection to printed materials.
